In November, the Police (VP) started 81 administrative violation proceedings for non-compliance with Covid-19 restrictions, the State Police informed.
Prior to the introduction of the emergency situation, from 1 November to 8 November, 70 administrative violation proceedings were initiated for non-compliance with epidemiological safety measures to limit the spread of Covid-19 infection, of which 25 were for non-compliance with self-isolation.
Six administrative infringement proceedings have also been initiated for non-compliance with other epidemiological safety requirements – continuation of working hours in entertainment venues after midnight.
Another 30 administrative violation proceedings have been initiated for non-completion of the electronic questionnaire in the information system “covidpass.lv” and seven proceedings for non-compliance with the distance requirements and two proceedings for other cases.
During this period, the State Police has carried out 1452 preventive inspections in order to detect possible violations of the assembly, of which 796 inspections were carried out in public catering establishments.
Also, from November 6 and November 7, the employees of the Riga region administration performed 17 inspections in entertainment venues, in two of them violations were found.
On the other hand, when inspecting persons who have entered from abroad during the last ten days and observe self-isolation, the State Police has made 8,210 telephone calls, 836 trips and responded to four calls.
From November 9 to December 6, an emergency situation has been declared in the country, imposing stricter security measures. During these two days, the State Police, in co-operation with the municipal police, has carried out 2,856 preventive inspections, issued 222 preventive instructions, as well as initiated 11 administrative violation proceedings.
Currently, approximately 19,000 persons are registered in the information system covidpass.lv, who, when returning from those countries with a high incidence of Covid-19, must comply with the requirements of self-isolation. However, this number is changing every day.
