Responding to Spike in COVID-19 Cases, Ministry of Health Changes the Function of Nursing Beds for Patient Isolation

H. Khoirizi, Acting Director General of Hajj and Umrah Implementation at the Ministry of Religion said that all Hajj Dormitory in Indonesia are ready to help deal with the Covid-19 problem.

“There are already 8 hajj dormitories that are intensively used as COVID-19 Emergency Hospitals, at least as isolation places. There are Pondok Gede, Surabaya, Balikpapan, Lombok, Gorontalo, DIY, Semarang and Ambon”.

Thanks to the cooperation of all relevant parties, today everything is running and has started treating patients at Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory.

Of all the efforts of the government and related parties, H. Khoirizi emphasized that no one can help more than all of us.

“If people still don’t obey government policies, it’s impossible for us to handle all of this. Therefore, health protocols and vaccinations are the key for us to immediately break the Covid-19 chain,” he added.

On the same occasion, Fajriyah Usman, Vice President of Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero) said Pertamina continues to focus on increasing the availability of beds. In addition, Pertamina is also building another Covid Emergency Hospital (RSDC) located in Tanjung Duren. In addition, Pertamina has also dedicated more than 350 rooms at Patra Jasa hotels spread throughout Indonesia for health workers or medical personnel.
