The virtual world is again shocked by the news of the decline in fuel quality Pertalite Pertamina’s output. Recently, reports have surfaced that Pertalite fuel was said to have only octane levels or RON 86, although it should have been RON 90.
The news was widely discussed on Twitter, there was a user account that uploaded a photo of a bottle that was said to contain Pertalite gasoline. The color of the liquid in the bottle is green like Pertalite gasoline.
Well above the bottle there appears to be a device that displays the number 86 and has been dipped into the bottle containing the gasoline previously. The device is said to be a gasoline octane meter and the number shown is the gasoline octane number. The photo upload was posted by an account called @ yo2 ****.

Pertamina herself denies it, what are the facts?
The same company secretary of Pertamina Patra Niaga Irto Ginting opened her voice on viral upload. He denied the narrative that Pertalite had 86 octane.
Irto explained a few things. First, an accurate RON test instrument must refer to standard methods such as the ASTM RON method. With this method, the entire testing process can be validated and the tools used are always calibrated.
Pertamina also doubts the authenticity of the test equipment used in the viral photo. Irto himself pointed out that his party could not guarantee that the equipment used conformed to the correct test equipment.
“Pertamina cannot confirm the instrument used in the RON test. If the instrument used is an Octane Analyzer Portable, it must also be shown that the instrument has been calibrated using certified reference materials on a regular basis,” Irto told detikcom.
