In Linz, a 41-year-old woman discovered her stolen car by chance – and her resolute behavior paired with slaps in the face put the car thieves on the run.

The woman had lost her bunch of keys including the car keys on a playground in southern Linz on Wednesday afternoon. When she later went to her car, which was parked in an underground car park, it was gone.
Stolen car discovered by accident at traffic lights
The 41-year-old reported the incident to the Kleinmünchen police station in the evening. By chance she solved the problem herself, because a little later she discovered the missing car – it was standing at a traffic light, three men were sitting inside.
After slapping the face, thieves ran away
But that didn’t stop the resolute woman from taking action. She tore open the driver’s door, grabbed the handlebars by the outer clothing and gave him a few slaps. The three car thieves fled, but the 41-year-old was persistent: she chased the men with her recovered car – but eventually lost sight of them.
The police in Kleinmünchen were quite astonished when the woman came back just over an hour after the original theft report and reported that she had practically recovered her car herself.
