Residents say that at the location of the car, a bridegroom escort enters the ravine, accidents often occur

KOMPAS.com – As many as six people died after the car of the bridal group with police number DD 1452 GJ from Tannamawang Village, Bontoramba District, Regency Jeneponto, South Sulawesi, enter the abyss after passing the road divider, Saturday (15/8/2020) at around 02.00 WITA.

The incident occurred on Jalan Poros Sinjai – Bulukumba Km 25-26, Dusun Jatei, Sinjai, South Sulawesi.

One resident of Samaturue Village named Andi said, at the scene of the incident there were often accidents involving two or four wheels.

“The place often happens then. The road there is sloping down, the curve is very sharp plus the lighting of the place is lacking,” he said.

So that there are no more casualties, he also asked the government to act immediately.

“The government must immediately take action. The lighting in that place is very much needed because the average accident occurs at night,” he said.

After the incident, all of the victims who were traveling by the bride’s entourage were rushed to the Samaenre Community Health Center.

“There are eight people who entered the IGD Puskesmas Samaenre, six died and two survived. These two are still receiving medical treatment,” said Head of the Samaenre Health Center Sinjai A Wahyu Adliah Dachlan when contacted.

According to the information gathered, an accident occurred when the car was about to deliver the bride and groom from Bontoramba to Bone Regency.

When he arrived at the location of the incident, precisely at Jalan Poros Sinjai-Bulukumba Km 25-26, Jatie Hamlet, Sinjai, the car with police number DD 1452 GJ plunged into a ravine after crossing the road divider.

“There was an accident, and we were at the location temporarily transporting the car,” said Head of Traffic Unit Sinjai AKP Rahim when contacted, Saturday.
