In Woerden, approximately 1800 households were without electricity for several hours. On Christmas Eve around 10:40 pm, the residents of the center and a few more neighborhoods found themselves in the dark.
According to grid operator Stedin, the cause was a faulty cable. Mechanics have fixed the malfunction; around 0.50 am everyone in Woerden had power again.
