A resident of the village of Broek in Waterland has started a crowdfunding campaign for the police. The man wants the officers who were suspected of a robbery on a valuables transport in Amsterdam-Noord in the village last week detained support them.

On Wednesday, a group of heavily armed perpetrators raided the security transport at the Schöne Edelmetaal company in Amsterdam-Noord. This was accompanied by a lot of power. A perpetrator who was on the lookout fired a number of times in the air with an automatic weapon, while cars and cyclists passed by. A neighbor filmed all of that.
After loading, the perpetrators took off in several cars. Two cars drove on the provincial road to Broek in Waterland and were chased by a large number of police cars. Four suspects were eventually found in a meadow in Broek in Waterland detained. A fifth suspect died on the spot. He was probably hit by a police bullet. A sixth suspect was later arrested. The loot was later found in one of the getaway cars.
