How these patients can be treated is still unclear. In addition, it is still uncertain whether all lung Covid patients have the same inflammatory reactions. “We don’t know a lot yet, but these were the first two patients with long-term Covid to be included in this study, and we felt these data were too important not to publish at this stage,” the researchers say. That is why this study is now available in preprint. The study has not yet been tested by fellow scientists (peer review). A study in preprint gives other scientists in the world the opportunity to learn from it and work together for better results.
