On February 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., the information day organized by the Institute of Plant Physiology and Genetics (IFRG) at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS) will begin on the topic: “New genomic techniques – opportunities and challenges for researchers and agricultural producers’.
The information day will be aimed at presenting the innovations and achievements in the genome editing of organisms, as well as the challenges faced by scientists and farmers in conditions of climate change. Speakers will discuss recent trends and scientific developments in the field of genomic technologies that affect agriculture and medicine, emphasizing specific results and issues. In addition, ethical and legal issues, as well as regulatory issues related to the application of new genomic techniques, will be addressed.
The event will be held in the meeting hall of IFRG-BAS, Acad. Georgi Bonchev”, bl. 21, 2nd floor, Sofia.
