Surely everyone knows at least one Christmas carol. They are always very sonorous and once you start singing them, it is difficult to “throw” them out of your head.
There are many different Christmas carols in the world. Many of them are very similar, only the language in which they are performed changes. Meanwhile, others are completely unique.
In 2019, the website “Medium” did a research and found out how many Christmas carols there are in total in the world.
In order to collect and obtain data on how many holiday songs there are, representatives of “Medium” set one criterion. They searched for songs with the keyword “Christmas” or songs with that word in the title.
And as it turned out, in 2019 there were 9,274 songs in the world with the word “Christmas” in the title.
After two years, “Medium” decided to repeat such research and incredibly, in just two years, the number of songs had increased impressively. In 2021, there were more than 49,000 songs in the world with the word “Christmas” in the title.
It is important to add that the actual number of songs with the word “Christmas” in the title is much higher, because “Medium” representatives were looking for songs in English. Since holiday songs are performed in different languages around the world, not all of them are included in this chart and the actual number of songs would be even higher.
