After three training sessions devoted to shooting, infantry combat, hand-to-hand combat and maintaining order, 679 new Republican Guard (GR) soldiers from the 2023 Alpha class received their triumph. The ceremony presided over last Friday at the Avorbam Training Center by Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, commander-in-chief of this elite corps, brought senior officers, parents and many anonymous people who came to greet these young soldiers. who have braved the various ordeals. Especially when you know that out of a workforce of 1064 at the start, 385 were expelled due to indiscipline. “Discipline is the bedrock of the Republican Guard”, hammered Commander Joumar Ankama Ngouma. The director of the Training Center (CI) especially insisted on stressing the importance of continuous training, which makes it possible to renew the lessons received.
In his capacity as sponsor of the promotion, Colonel Jean-Paul Boliet invited this contingent to more virtues to be exemplary soldiers. “This common basic training puts an end to your initial apprenticeship, but not to your military training. You must therefore demonstrate discipline, punctuality, rigor, integrity, but also humility. For humility is proof of great strength of character”. For the head of this elite corps, the defense of the Head of State remains and remains the cardinal principle of any element of the Republic Guard. “I expect you to be soldiers capable of going to the front, to the assault, without fear or fear, or hesitation. May your determination to defend the President of the Republic be a conviction without a spirit of hindsight. The guard dies but does not surrender,” said Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
