The Faculty of Law of South Valley University in Qena organized a symposium entitled (Reproductive Health and Family Planning), under the auspices of Dr. Youssef Gharbawi, President of the University, Dr. Ahmed Kamal Nasari, Vice President for community and environmental development, and Dr. Mohamed Rushdi, Dean of the College.

Dr. Mohamed Rushdi, Dean of the College, indicated that the symposium aims to raise awareness among male and female students in education, explaining that the issue of reproductive health and family planning is among the priorities of the State to reduce the growth rates of population devouring the fruits of development.

Rushdi appreciated the state’s efforts in organizing free convoys to raise public awareness, noting that South Valley University spares no effort in implementing medical convoys in the villages of the Southern Upper Egypt region, which include health education services for women and education the importance of family planning and reproductive health.

During the symposium, Dr. Ahmed Hamdi Mohamed Shams, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at South Valley University School of Medicine, spoke about the concept of reproductive health, understood as people’s ability to have a responsible, satisfying and safer, and being able to have children and have the freedom to choose when and how to do it.

He explained that to achieve a better level of reproductive health, it is necessary to involve men and women in the reproductive decision of the family and to introduce these concepts to both young men and women at an early age. of reproductive health is more comprehensive than that, and is everyone’s responsibility at all stages of life.

He then spoke about family planning, which is one of the key means of curbing unsustainable population growth and its negative effects on the economy, the environment and development efforts being made at the national and regional level, and can be achieved using contraceptives Methods and treatment of infertility.
