Moroccan press reports revealed, today, Saturday, from close sources within the Confederation of African Football, “CAF”, of the closest decision to take on the resumption of the African Champions League competition.
Moroccan Radio “Radio Mars” reported in the early hours of Saturday morning that the decision to be taken soon is to announce the resumption of the African championship at club level in a neutral country.
The Moroccan radio added that the CAF members discussed several options, perhaps the most prominent of which is the rest of the matches being played in a neutral country.
CAF is awaiting the latest developments, especially on press matters, particularly in Egypt and Morocco, before making the final decision.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) had made a decision recently to postpone the remainder of the matches in both the Champions League or the Confederation League indefinitely due to the emerging epidemic of the Coruna virus (Covid 19).
Al-Ahly was scheduled to meet its Moroccan opponent, Wydad Casablanca, in return, Zamalek will play against the other oval team, Al-Raja Club, where the two go-to sites will be held in Morocco, with the return matches to be held in Egypt according to the draw.
It is worth noting that Esperance is the holder of the last two copies of the African Championship after the victory over Al-Ahly and Wydad Casablanca in the last two versions, before the “Blood and Gold” team was deposited during the current version at the hands of Zamalek, losing (3-2) with the total of the two round-trip matches in the quarter-finals. .
