Reopening of the Domaine national de Saint-Germain-en-Laye

Lovers of beautiful walks, to your calendars! The Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye has announced that it has reopened its domain for visitors on June 6, 2020, to the delight of families and Sunday walkers … The opportunity to discover this immense domain before the next reopening of the Château de Saint-Germain-en-Laye – National Archeology Museum.

Do you want to go for a walk and enjoy the sunny days? We’re going towards National domain of Saint-Germain-en-Laye which has been welcoming visitors to the great outdoors since June 6, 2020. From 8 a.m., regulars of jogging and other sportspeople were able to reclaim the premises while respecting the sanitary measures enacted by the government and recalled by the Domain of Saint-Germain-en-Laye.

Regarding these health measures, they are available at each entry to the area. Here they are: alcohol consumption prohibited, just like gatherings of more than 10 people, respect for physical distances (one meter) and no noise pollution. Anyway, you can now come again remarkable garden and appreciate the work carried out by the teams of gardeners throughout the confinement. Cuts, pruning, mowing, flowering of flower beds … A proper restoration of the Estate.

Built in the 12th century by the king Louis VI the Fat, the Castle of Saint-Germain-en-Laye is first of all a fortress in height, on a high site sheltered from attacks. Saint-Germain becomes the king’s favorite residence François I, which transforms the fortified castle into a Renaissance style. The magnificent monument now houses the National Archeology Museum and brings together masterpieces from Celtic and Gallo-Roman antiquities, but also from the Paleolithic to the First Middle Ages.

The means therefore to wait before it reopens. And especially the opportunity to ventilate a little after more than two months confined to the house because of the coronavirus. We go for a stroll in the Domain of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, the friends ?
