Renowned Taiwanese Sculptor Ju Ming Dies at 85

Taiwanese media reported that the 85-year-old Taiwanese sculptor Ju Ming died at home at the age of 85.

According to reports, Ju Ming was exercising at his residence in Shilin District, Taipei City at around 10:00 p.m. yesterday (22). Afterwards, his family found out that he had passed away and immediately reported it to the police. Ju Ming suffered from high blood pressure and other chronic diseases for a long time in his later years, and he has been depressed recently. There are reports that Ju Ming is world-weary and commits suicide, but the family has not released any response yet.

Ju Ming, formerly known as Zhu Chuantai, is regarded as one of the representative artists in Taiwan’s contemporary art circle. His “Tai Chi Series” and “Human World Series” are the most famous works. Many of his works are also related to Hong Kong, including the ” “Tai Chi Series” sculpture works, and the “Zhongmen” known as “Beacon Tower” on the Million Avenue of Chinese University.

“Zhongmen” was made in 1986. It is the first official work of Ju Ming’s last large series “Arch” in “Tai Chi Series”. , Ju Ming went to Hong Kong for maintenance in 2006, and retitled his work “Zhongmen”. CUHK students called “Zhongmen” and the station where it is located “Beacon Tower”.
