People’s Artist of the USSR, artistic director of the State Academic Maly Theater in Moscow, Yuri Solomin, is in intensive care. This is reported by RIA Novosti November 7 with reference to doctors.
According to the agency, the artist’s condition is assessed as serious.
88-year-old Yuri Solomin was hospitalized the day before, on November 6. As theater director Tamara Mikhailova said, the actor lost consciousness on the street when he got into the car to go to the theater.
Yuri Solomin is a theater and film actor, People’s Artist of the USSR, full holder of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland. He has directed the Maly Theater since 1988. In cinema, he is known for his roles in the films “Dersu Uzala”, “TASS is authorized to declare…”, “Blockade”, “Walking in Torment”, “An Ordinary Miracle” and other films.
