Opulence, mood and dynamism await the audience with “Love, champagne and… more” at the Opera House – 2024-05-10 17:06:59

On May 14 at 7 p.m in the hall of the State Opera – Burgas, the Burgas audience and guests of the city await them: sparkling mood – like sparkling champagne, whirlwind dances, energizing music from popular works, bright artistic presence, dizzying choreography, brilliant soloists, orchestra, choir and ballet in the lavish stage production “Love, champagne and… more!”.

The rich program of the operetta gala includes popular and well-loved works and will fill the Opera House on Tuesday with beautiful music and performers, combined with whirlwind ballet and festive mood.

The impressive concert performance, presented by the soloists, orchestra, chorus and ballet of the Burgas Opera, will unfold its full splendor under the baton of the maestro conductor Dimitar Kosev.

In the rich concert program, the best of their artistic role will be shown: the soprano Ilina Mihailova /guest/ – the Burgas public knows her from her brilliant roles as Rozina in “The Barber of Seville” and “La Traviata” (productions by Prof. Dr. Alexander Tekeliev/), as well as the wonderful soloists of the Burgas Opera:

the sopranos Maria Tsvetkova-Madjarova and Nona Krastnikovamezzo-soprano Joanna of Cadizthe tenor Valery Georgievthe baritone Jordan Hristozovbasites Delyan Slavov and Kostadin Mechkov. He is the concertmaster of the orchestra Vanya Zlatevaconductor of the choir – Alexander Chepanov, the choreography of the ballet is by Marina Zmeeva-Markova.

Behind the conductor’s desk at the operetta gala “Love, champagne and… more!” on May 14 he becomes maestro Dimitar Kosevchief conductor of the State Opera – Ruse.

Dimitar Kosev was born in the city of Ruse in 1992. The young conductor and pianist is a graduate of the National School of Arts “Prof. Veselin Stoyanov”.

Immediately after completing his secondary education, he was admitted to the Prayner Konservatorium – Vienna, Austria, majoring in Conducting and Piano.

In 2014, at the age of 21, he graduated from the Conservatory with full honors.

The young conductor has an impressive creative biography, he is the recipient of the prestigious award for contribution to Bulgarian culture and art “Golden Feather” for 2019, the prize “Young Musician of the Year” for 2020, awarded by the BNR, as well as a number of prestigious international and national awards.

The Burgas audience knows maestro Kosev from the concert of Mariana Popova with the orchestra of the State Opera – Burgas – during the Burgas Music Festival “Emil Chakarov” 2021. In November 2023, the young conductor was memorable behind the desk in Mozart’s masterpiece “Don Juan”.

After the performance, the musicians admitted that despite the three-hour playing of the difficult score, they did not feel tired, as the orchestra sounded extremely balanced, with dynamics adequate to the action.

At the end of February of this year, he conducted the operetta by Johann Strauss-son “The Bat” with great success in front of a large audience.

At the beginning of April this year, maestro Kosev was behind the conductor’s desk at the large-scale opera gala “Viva Puccini”, dedicated to the 165th anniversary of the birth and the 100th anniversary of the death of the great Italian composer, in which soloists, orchestra and choir participated of the State Opera – Burgas.

In the lavish operetta gala “Love, champagne and… more!” works representing the best of operetta works and musicals are included.

On the stage of the Opera House on Tuesday, the following will be performed: arias, duets and ensemble from “The Queen of the Czardasha” by Imre Kahlmann, arias, duets and ensemble from “The Merry Widow”, aria from “Judith” from the operetta of the same name by Franz Lehar, arias and ensemble from “The Bat” by Johann Strauss-son , arias from “Countess Maritza” by Imre Kallmann, ballet performances from “Orpheus from Hell” by Offenbach, “The Bat” by Strauss-son, songs from the musicals “My Fair Lady” by Frederick Lowe, “Fiddler on the Roof” by Jerry Bock , “Cabaret”, “Land of Smiles” and others.
