NASHVILLE (Dagbladet): The debate commission has chosen to remove the Plexiglas ahead of tonight’s debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden.
During the heavily criticized first debate in Cleveland, the presidential candidates did not have Plexiglas between them, but almost four meters apart. Shortly afterwards, Donald Trump was diagnosed with coronavirus.

According to the plan, tonight’s debate was to be held by the two being separated with Plexiglas, as Mike Pence and Kamala Harris were in the vice presidential debate.

It’s not happening now. The two campaigns agreed on the change as late as this afternoon Norwegian time. The reason is, among other things, that both candidates have tested negative for coronavirus.

It happens at the same time as there are very strong infection control measures around the entire event and a limited audience that is allowed to be present, both in the debate hall itself and in the entire area at Belmont University in Nashville, where the debate is held.

When Dagbladet arrived at the debate area a little after 01.00 on Friday night, several hundred had gathered just outside the fences. There were both Trump supporters and Biden supporters who wanted to take to the streets to promote their cause
