Since March 31, 2021, Instagram users can perform remixed Duetss
Instagram continues to be inspired by its competitor Tik Tok by introducing a new functionality allowing to make Duets create on the basis of remixed Reals, a function widely used on Tik Tok.
Collaborative videos on the rise
The short video editing took precedence over photo sharing. Interactive, efficient and more creative, social networks can no longer do without them and are redoubling their efforts to innovate. One of the proven features that Internet users love is the creation of collaborative videos that use another person’s video as a backdrop. Commonly known as Duos, the principle is to create your own video by being inspired and posting another video next to your own: the final rendering is a two-in-one video where the screen is split in half with the original on one side and the new content on the other. From then on, the user can have fun commenting on the video he has chosen to remix and many other possibilities such as changing the sound, interacting with it or making a humorous montage.

On Instagram, this function is therefore available on all videos published from March 31, 2021, accessible on the Instagram feed or from the Real menu. You must then click on the three ellipses at the top right of the screen (and at the bottom right in the Actuals menu) and choose ” Remix this Real “. However, if you do not want to see your video reused or parodied, Instagram allows its users to disable this option for all of their own Reals in their account settings. Given the scale of the phenomenon, other social networks should follow, such as Snapchat.
