The FBI confirms that what they believe to be human remains has been found after the search on Wednesday morning. According to NBC, something that appears to be remains has also been found.

Brian Laundrie has been missing for over a month since September 14th. He was engaged to Instagram adventurer Gaby Petito (22) who stayed found killed near the border of Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, USA.
The FBI confirms at a news conference that they have found what they believe are human remains during today’s search. In addition, they have found a backpack and notebook belonging to Laundrie. It is not clear whether the remains belong to Laundrie.
The area in the park at the Carlton Reserve in Florida, has until recently been under water.
Missed for five weeks
Petito was reported missing by his family on September 11, after spending the summer on the country road with his fiancée. In the aftermath of Petito’s disappearance – and the discovery of her body – a number of speculations have been circulating about the background to the murder.
On September 24, the FBI in Wyoming issued a federal arrest warrant on Laundrie in connection with the disappearance and death.
He is described as a person of interest in the case, but the FBI has also emphasized that they continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder, even though the arresting officer gives the opportunity to arrest Laundrie.
Tip of the parents
In a statement, Laundrie’s family lawyer, Steven Bertolino, said that it was Laundrie’s parents who advised the FBI and police in North Port to investigate the area. He says his parents went there to look for him on Wednesday morning.
– The FBI and NPPD were informed last night about Brian’s parents’ intentions, and they met Chris and Roberta there this morning. After a quick search on a trail Brian often visited, some things belonging to Brian were found. At the moment, the police are conducting a more thorough investigation of the area, the lawyer says according to NBC.
