MARKEN – Marken is relieved now that the Mazda found actually appears to be involved in the collision of 14-year-old Tamar. The police said today that the German car is very likely the car that hit her.

According to the police, it is actually just a formality at the moment. A spokesman says he is almost one hundred percent sure that the Mazda 3 that confiscated was taken in the investigation into Tamar’s death is the car that hit her.
“Anyway a little relieved, then a little bit of the riddle is gone”, says a resident of Marken. “That is good for the family, but also for the whole of Marken, because we all sympathize.”
More clarity quickly
The family is also happy with the fast work of the police, says family spokesman Richard de Weijze. “We hope that soon there will be more clarity about what exactly happened that evening,” he told NH Nieuws.

The car is after one of the almost 1500 tips which the police have found in Germany. Now that it turns out that the Mazda can be directly linked to Tamar’s death, the investigation is expanding to include the owner and those who were in the car that night.
German legal system
According to the police, this was not possible at first because the owner is a resident of Germany and the ‘legal system works differently there’. Now that there is clear evidence with the Mazda, the investigation is entering the next phase and the owner will be questioned.
According to the police, cooperation with the German authorities is good. Tamar’s family emphasizes that they have every confidence in the police’s investigation.
