The man is said to have gone on a short evening walk on Tuesday at 7.30 pm. When he did not return to the cabin as agreed, the family became concerned.
– We have used rescue dogs, police and rescue helicopters as well as a lot of volunteer crews in the search for the hiker. We use full force, said Ove Stian Ovrum, assignment manager in the Innlandet police district, to TV 2 on Wednesday.
The search did not result in any findings on Wednesday.
On Thursday, the police will go out with the name and picture of the missing man in consultation with relatives.

The man is Emil Magnus Edvardsson (29) from Oslo.
The police say that Edvardsson is approximately 178 cm tall, strongly built and has brown hair. He is wearing orange shorts, a white patterned t-shirt and possible caps, as well as Nike sneakers. He may have a bandage on one knee.
The police also write that the man is in good physical shape, and ask that everyone in Gudbrandsdalen and surrounding mountains are observant if you see a man who fits the description.

Seeking with undiminished strength
The police state on Thursday that they are searching with undiminished force in the same area.
– We have no concrete clues, but we are looking with undiminished strength. The search operation will continue throughout the day with both professional and voluntary actors, says operations manager Bård Einar Hoft.
He says the conditions are good.
– The weather has been good even though the night temperature is somewhat lower. We have good hopes of finding the person alive, says Hoft.
