Solopos.com, SRAGEN — The Sragen Regency Government provided assistance to people with HIV/AIDs (PLWHA) and children with HIV/AIDs (ADHA) at the Hall of the Sragen Regent’s Official House, Wednesday (6/12/2023). Assistance in the form of funds worth IDR 10 million was handed over by the Regent of Sragen, Kusdinar Untung Yuni Sukowati in the context of World AIDS Day which is celebrated every December 1.
It is hoped that this capital strengthening assistance can encourage PLWHA to be more productive and empowered. Apart from that, education savings and school equipment were also handed over to 29 ADHA, basic food packages for 29 ADHA companions. The donation was handed over at the same time as a seminar to commemorate World AIDS Day 2023.
Secretary of the Sragen AIDS Management Commission (KPA), Haryoto, said the seminar aimed to equalize perceptions about handling HIV/AIDS.
“Apart from that, it is to build synergy between government institutions, the business world and the private sector in efforts to control HIV in Sragen Regency. “Then also to increase the response and commitment to preventing HIV/AIDS cases,” he said.
The theme for commemorating World AIDS Day is the same, namely “Let Communities Lead”. Meanwhile, the national theme is Moving Together with the Community to End AIDS 2030.
Haryoto said there needs to be an active role for the community and society in preventing the increase in HIV/AIDS cases in Sragen. “This includes utilizing technology to disseminate information about HIV/AIDS in all circles,” he said.
Apart from seminars and handing over aid to PLWHA, another activity held to commemorate Seduina AIDS Day was a dialogue on radio. Then the Archipelago Contemplation activity by the Sragen PLWHA community on Friday (1/12/2023). There was also a health campaign activity by the Sragen Health Service on Saturday (2/12/2023).
Haryoto also admitted that he had carried out basic knowledge outreach and health tests for the key population of men with sex (LSK).
