YOGYA, KRJOGJA.com – The violent behavior that occurred in the Babarsari-Seturan area, Depok Sleman in the last few days has attracted the attention of the DIY community. The Governor of Yogyakarta who is also the King of the Yogyakarta Kraton, Sri Sultan HB X asked the Yogyakarta Regional Police to take firm action against people who commit violent behavior and destroy public peace.
To reporters, Monday (4/7/2022), the Sultan said that since two or three years ago he had been in dialogue with immigrants from eastern Indonesia. Sultan revealed that the immigrants asked for time to change and no longer commit acts of violence.
“Why should there be violence, two or three years ago I had a dialogue with them in Depok. And they ask for time to change. On average they come here individually, maybe students. I have asked not to be violent. It’s okay to talk loudly, just like the radio, it’s just volume, but don’t understand that violence is physical,” said the Sultan.
In the interview, the Sultan asked the Yogyakarta Regional Police to take firm action against these unlawful acts. The number one person in DIY is of the opinion that there will be no deterrent effect if the police do not take firm action legally.
“I hope that because this is a violation of the law, I hope that the Regional Police will not only intervene, but because the discipline for violating the law will be processed properly. I don’t want this place in Jogja to make physical violence a habit to educate children,” he said.
