During the night on the island of La Palma, the 24-hour monitoring volcanic surveillance network of the National Geographic Institute (IGN) has located a total of 42 earthquakes associated with the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano, a dozen of them with magnitudes greater than 3 (mbLg).
At 07.24 hours there was an earthquake of 5.0 (mbLg), according to the latest update of the IGN data, which is the maximum magnitude recorded since the volcanic crisis began. Located to the southwest of the municipality of Villa de Mazo, with a depth of 35 km, it was felt with intensity IV-V on the EMS scale in all the islands of the province.
Specifically, it was felt in Puntallana, San Andrés y Sauces, El Paso, Garafía, Los Llanos de Aridane, Santa Cruz de La Palma, Breña Baja, Tijarafe, Breña Alta, Villa de Mazo, Barlovento, Tazacorte, Puntagorda, Fuencaliente, in The Palm; Valverde, Frontera and El Pinar, in El Hierro; Santiago del Teide, La Guancha, Icod de los Vinos, Guía de Isora, Los Realejos, Candelaria, Güímar, La Orotava, San Miguel de Abona, Granadilla de Abona, Santa Úrsula and Los Silos, in Tenerife, and Valle Gran Rey, Hermigua , Vallehermoso and San Sebastián, in La Gomera,
