After losing his job last March, when the coronavirus started taking thousands of lives in Los Angeles, United States (USA), the woman was left without a fixed income, so she had to move with her two children to a shed, without imagining the bright future that was in store for them thanks to the ingenuity of one of her little ones.

Berenice is an illegal immigrant single mother of Mexican origin, who has lived for some time in The Angels. After being unemployed, she felt that her future was doomed. “We had no choice but to settle in that tiny building and pray that the situation would improve”the 30-year-old told Today as she recalled those dark days.

The mother, together with Aaron and her youngest 2-year-old daughter, tried to get ahead but everything was uphill: they couldn’t fulfill the child’s homework because they didn’t have internet, much less a table to do homework. In addition, they used the bathrooms at a nearby restaurant to shower when they could.

This is how he was born Aaron’s Garden. “He came up with the idea to start selling plants”. When the 8-year-old boy put the idea to his mother, she decided to give him the last $ 12 in his account, putting all her hope in her son’s entrepreneurship.

With that money he bought 8 succulents. He set up a table at the door and sold each plant: he recovered his capital and made a profit of $ 4. With the 16 dollars he decided to invest. Now, after a few months, the 8-year-old is the manager of Aaron’s Garden and thanks to the help and donations in Gound Found Me, managed to buy an apartment and grow his business more.

In addition, with her effort she was able to unite her entire family: because Ayleen Pacheco, her older sister, was able to return with them after being sent to Mexico with her grandparents in 2018. “I am very proud of my brother, because he was the one who recovered me”the girl told ABC.
