Today, the 15th, western Japan experienced record warmth as warm air flowed in from the south. By 1:00 p.m., temperatures in Hyuga City, Miyazaki Prefecture and Shimabara City, Nagasaki Prefecture had reached 25 degrees Celsius or higher, setting a new record for December.

Today (15th), a low pressure system accompanied by a front is moving eastward over the Sea of Japan. Warm air is flowing in from the south toward the low pressure system and front, and winds are blowing southward mainly in western Japan. As a result, temperatures have risen in western Japan, and by 1 p.m., the highest temperature was 26.5 degrees Celsius in Hyuga City, Miyazaki Prefecture, 25.8 degrees Celsius in Ibusuki City, Kagoshima Prefecture, and 25.2 degrees Celsius in Shimabara City, Nagasaki Prefecture.
