Rebel Wilson was not allowed to work on her weight for a long time. As long as they’re in the Pitch Perfectmovies, she was forbidden to gain or lose more than 10 pounds.
“I couldn’t lose a lot of weight because it was in the contracts for that movie,” Wilson says The Wrap and the podcast Call Her Daddy from Alex Cooper. “You had to keep your weight.” Wilson played the role of Fat Amy Pitch Perfect from 2012. She also appeared in the sequels that came out in 2015 and 2017.
The Australian actress said she wanted to lose weight because it would increase her chances of getting pregnant. Moreover, she kept being cast for the same roles. “I was the stereotype in playing a fat, funny friend,” said Wilson, who has enjoyed her roles in films such as Bridesmaids in How To Be Single.
Three years ago, she took advantage of the corona restrictions to work on her health. She had “worked out” and watched her diet closely, with the result that she lost 40 pounds.
