Age-related hearing loss

Many people’s hearing weakens with age, usually from the age of 60, and hearing loss can cause tinnitus.

Loud noises, such as those from heavy equipment, electric saws, and firearms, can cause hearing loss due to noise.

Tinnitus usually goes away due to short-term exposure, such as attending noisy parties, but long- and short-term exposure to loud noises can cause permanent damage.
