Suara.com – Program sonifikasi new data belong NASA allows humans to hear voices supernova, the most extreme phenomenon in the universe, by turning it into a sound that any instrument on Earth can play.
To hear the sound, NASA teamed up with the Chandra X-ray observatory, which has been imaging distant galaxies for 20 years. In a new initiative, the scientists took three iconic images from the archive and translated the different frequencies into different tones of sound.
In the first video uploaded by NASA, it shows how the Crab Nebula sound is heard. In NASA sonification data, X-ray rays (blue and white) are represented by brass instruments, optical light (purple) is played by string instruments, and infrared (pink) rays are represented by woodwinds.
The pitch of each instrument group increases from the bottom of the image to the top, so that many notes are heard at the same time. The voices then gather near the center of the nebula.

Reporting from Live Science on Friday (11/12/2020), NASA uploaded two other videos, one of which shows the Bullet Cluster, two groups of galaxies slowly colliding with each other.
The last video shows a supernova explosion called Supernova 1987A. Unlike the other two videos, this supernova has a special time interval, creating a higher and louder tone as the evolution of the explosion between 1999 and 2013.
The sound recording, which was uploaded on November 30, can be listened to via a YouTube account NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center.
