Known worldwide for its 3D rendering engine Unreal Engine and especially its very popular video game Fortnite, the American company Epic Games has just announced the upcoming release of RealityScan. With its first mobile application, the studio is thus making a remarkable entry into the field of 3D modeling tools for everyone and which do not require any device.
Whether it is with an iPhone and in a few months a latest generation Android smartphone, this application will allow you to transform them into a mobile 3D scanner. To develop RealityScan, Epic Games called on specialists from Capturing Reality and Quixel known respectively for their remarkable professional modeling software ‘Reality Capture’ and Megascans.
This partnership has also made it possible to put photogrammetry technology in everyone’s hands, which until now was reserved for professionals with overpriced equipment.
