Real will probably disappear from the market: Self-service chain should go to German-Russian consortium

X + Bricks has terminated the exclusive agreement with Kaufland. This would also enable other interested parties to secure real branches. According to insiders from SCP Group, the aim is that all markets go to competitors. In reality, a small branch network should remain in place temporarily. It is unclear who should take care of inventory and delivery.

Among the potential buyers of the branches would be Rewe, Edeka, Kaufland, Lidl, Rewe, Edeka, Netto and the hardware stores Toom and OBI. Afterwards, other dealers will also be given the opportunity to submit offers.

It would not be a surprise, however, if some Real branches were converted to TK Maxx or McFit branches. The SCP Group cooperates with these providers, among others. The offers are examined by the Federal Cartel Office.

How many employees will ultimately be fired or taken on is unclear. There is also no information about the number of branches that will be converted into Rewe, Edeka or TK Maxx. This is one of the reasons why employees must continue to worry about their jobs.
