Chief inspector Johann Baumschlager, press spokesman for the Lower Austria regional police department, confirmed to a request from the Lower Austrian government that a person was dead.
It was also rumored that the victim – a man – had been stabbed. The perpetrator, also male, was arrested by the police in the restaurant without resistance. Both perpetrators and victims are said to be of Turkish origin. A possible motive could be in a dispute over an intended takeover.
According to police spokesman Johann Baumschlager, the questioning of the suspect continued in the afternoon.
At the crime scene itself, several police officers secured the entrances to the pizzeria. On the part of the crime scene group of the Lower Austria State Criminal Investigation Department, evidence was being gathered.
