“Real Madrid vs Manchester City: Fabio Cannavaro Believes Madrid Is Still the Favorite for Champions League Semifinals”

Not much to look forward to Manchester City will beat Real Madrid in the semifinals of the second leg Liga Champions. According to Fabio CannavaroMadrid remains his favourite.

Man City will take turns hosting Madrid at the Etihad Stadium on Thursday (18/5/2023) in the morning WIB. Previously the two teams played in a 1-1 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu in the middle of this week.

Without the away goal rule, the chances of qualifying for Man City and Madrid are actually still the same. However, the Citizens have the advantage due to their status as hosts, which is supported by a brilliant record.

Italian football legend and former Real Madrid player, Fabio Cannavaro, disagrees with the notion that Manchester City are the favorites in the semi-final second leg. The former top Italian center back explained the reasons for Madrid’s advantages compared to the home team.

“Against City it was a great game, good play from both teams and with a very even finish so everything is still open for the game at the Etihad,” Cannavaro told AS.

“I don’t see it that way [Man City favorit-red]. Knowing how Real Madrid are, I’m sure they will go to Manchester to win, always with the guns. For the type of football they play with Ancelotti even away from home, I think Real are his favorites for the second leg.”

“I hope they can make it to the Champions League final. They have a coach who is secretly always good at tactics. Carlo is a phenomenal coach and that’s why Real Madrid always frightening his rivals in the semifinals,” said the former Ballon d’Or winner.
