JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – PT Pertamina (Persero) has recently been testing and developing fuels D-100. Fuel destined for mesin diesel it is made from 100 percent palm oil.
The President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, said that this is a form of government work in building energy independence in the country.
“In 2019 we have succeeded in producing and using B20, and this year we are starting with B30, so that we can reduce the value of our oil imports in 2019,” he said. Jokowi, in state speech in the framework of the 57th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Friday (14/8/2020).

Jokowi said that currently Pertamina is completing the development of the D-100 fuel, which has a cetane number 79.
If the trial is complete and ready for mass production, it is estimated that 1 million tonnes of palm oil will be absorbed as raw material for this fuel, with a production capacity of 20,000 barrels per day.
“Pertamina, in collaboration with researchers, has succeeded in creating a catalyst for the manufacture of the D-100, namely diesel fuel which is 100 percent made from palm oil which is currently being tested for production at our two oil refineries,” said Jokowi.

Deputy CEO of PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Budi Santoso Syarif said, during testing of the D-100 fuel, there were no excessive noise while driving.
The engine pull is claimed to be more powerful and the exhaust fumes are cleaner, even though the car is lauched at high rpm.
“According to our lab test results, it was measured that the cetane number of the D-100 mixed fuel used in Dexlite and FAME reached a minimum of 60 or higher than current diesel fuel,” said Budi, in a written statement some time ago. then.
