Ravens probably want to trade flacco

Munich / Baltimore – In 2016 Joe Flacco extended his contract with the Baltimore Ravens by three years and $ 66.4 million. However, 2018 could have been the last season for the now 33-year-old at the Ravens.

According to information from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Ravens plan to trade their most injured veteran quarterback Joe Flacco after the season. They should want to end the time of their long-standing playmaker in Baltimore with class and give the 33-year-old a say in the search for a new team.

Jackson will probably inherit Flacco

Flacco played a changeable and inconsistent season until his injury in Week 10. The hip injury before Bye Week came at the worst possible time, as the rookie Lamar Jackson, who was actually intended as a project for the future, took advantage of the hour.

Jackson was drafted at position 32 by the Ravens this year, should study as a backup of Flacco for a few years, and then lead the Ravens as quarterback of the future in a few years. Due to a hip injury at Flacco, the rookie took over the starter role in Week 11 of the current season and has so far been particularly convincing with his strong running game. The future in Baltimore seems to be cleared up.

Flacco is still under contract with the Super Bowl winner from 2013 until 2021. He is earning $ 18.5 million for the upcoming season, a sum Baltimore is unlikely to spend on backup. Some teams will definitely think about Flacco. However, its expensive contract could make trade talks more difficult.
