Dozens of roads are closed on Thursday as a result of the extreme weather “Gyda”, and several will be closed for the night later Thursday. The road traffic control centers ask motorists to be careful.

The case is updated throughout the day.
On Thursday afternoon and evening, several roads are closed as a result of the extreme weather that has rolled in over the Norwegian coast.
Contractors are now working hard to keep as many roads as possible open, but Vegtrafikksentralene reports that capacity has been blown up.
– I woke up when the landslide hit the wall. A lot came at once, Bård Kalstad tells VG. He lives in Bergslia in Meldal in Orkland municipality, where several small landslides occurred on Thursday night.
The landslide started about 50 meters from his house, and went over two roads before stopping in his house wall. At first he thought something had happened out on the balcony, before he saw a tractor coming driving.
When he went out, he saw that the landslide had passed. He estimates that it was not very large, but about 50 meters wide.
– I have to wait until daylight to check more closely if there has been damage to the house. But I have not received water, he says.

Kalstad says that neighbors in the same construction field have had landslides into the wall – and some have also had water in the shelf, he says. Thursday morning, he says it has so far been stay-at-home weather at Meldal.
During the night, floods have been reported in several rivers and several landslides, landslides and avalanches have been observed. We expect that the water flow will continue to rise throughout the day and we expect more landslide events, the warning service Varsom.no writes on Twitter.
