Rare photos – Nadia Lutfi including … 4 of the stars of the beautiful time at the Berlin Festival

Many old Egyptian films reached international competition, and they were honored in cinematic festivals outside and inside Egypt during the old cinema days, or what is called the beautiful time movies.

Among the stars who were honored at an international festival and invited to the Berlin Film Festival in 1963 were Shukri Sarhan, Kamal Al-Shennawi, Nadia Lutfi, and Madiha Yousry.

They appeared together in several shots documented in rare photos circulated by fans of films of this time whose stars are characterized by elegance and talent.

It is noteworthy that Shukri Sarhan competed with the “Golden Bear” award for the Berlin International Film Festival in 1963, for the role of “Saeed Mahran”, in “The Thief and Dogs”, taken from the novel by writer Naguib Mahfouz, and Kamal Al-Sheikh turned it into a movie with the same name, and shared the championship Kamal El-Shennawy, Shadia and others.

Berlin International Film Festival (Internationale Filmfestspiele Berlin) It is also called “Berlinale”, it is classified among the most important film festivals in the world, it is also the most visited film festival. It takes place from February 9 to 19 every year, since its foundation in 1951 in Berlin, Germany.

The jury always selects different films from all over the world, and the festival awards are the golden bear and the silver bear, which represents the city of Berlin, the German capital.
