The rhyming battles between rappers are frenetic and have grown dramatically in recent times: some of the most important national competitions have gathered thousands of people from the public and the discipline has even been professionalized and for four years a professional league is celebrated in our country, the Freestyle Master Series or FMS.
Santander became this weekend the capital of battles between rappers -or battles of roosters- and hosted the celebration of various knockout tournaments which were key to achieving the long-awaited goal of ascending to the first division of this musical discipline. They were the last opportunities of the season to score points in the promotion rankings and achieve a place in the elite. It is not surprising then that some of the ‘freestylers’ -as they are known- more in the shape of the moment passed through the Cantabrian capital, such as Hander, Jesús LC and Sara Socas, who has made history and earned a place among the best on its own merits. Along with her, he also managed to ascend the rapper from Almeria Elekipo, another of the favorites.
In Santander they were held this weekend until four competitions that scored for promotion. Three of them were organized by The Urban Roosters -promoter of several of the most important cockfights nationally and internationally- and took place in the Palace of Festivals of Cantabria. The fourth was held in the Civic Center Tabacalera and it was the national final of the tournament Cantabrian North Music Association, a group that in recent years has made a name for itself as one of the most important rap and freestyle collectives in our country.
At twenty-three years old, the Canarian Sara Socas has broken down barriers and has faced all those people who criticized her level and insinuated that she had always received help and favors for her gender. In the Cantabrian capital showed that he is in great shape, won two of the three competitions In which he participated, he left memorable moments and will be one of the ten rappers who will participate in the FMS next season.
