Bulgarian lamb has a blue stamp, and imported lamb has a red stamp
There are no grounds for a drastic increase in the price of lamb, eggs and cottage cheese for Easter. In this year, we do not observe an increase in the prices of fuels and electricity, which affect production and trade. This is the opinion of the Consumer Protection Association, BTA reported.

The average price of lamb meat is about BGN 28 per kilogram, according to the non-governmental organization. The shoulder bag is about 20 percent cheaper. Prices are about 5 percent higher than last year. Green salad costs on average about 70 cents per piece, a bunch of radishes and spring onions – 80 cents. Eggs are about 60 cents per piece, and if you buy 30 pieces they come out cheaper – about 40 cents per piece. Various types of kosunacs are available at different prices. They start at BGN 4.80 and go up to BGN 10, adds the AZP.
Bulgarian farmers and traders are already alarming that there is an increased import of chilled meat from North Macedonia, which enters the country at dumped prices. They are about 20 times lower than those on the market, Mayorski said. He called on the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency to strengthen checks and controls for cheap imported meat and eggs at the borders.
The Association advises consumers to look in a prominent place for the mandatory signs with information about the country producing the lamb meat. The Bulgarian one has a blue seal, and the imported one – with a red one, and people should under no circumstances buy meat and eggs without seals, Mayorski explained.
