After the historic 2-7 debacle on Wednesday in Vienna against Red Bull Salzburg, Rapid made a guest appearance on Sunday (7.30 p.m.) in the 30th round of the Bundesliga in Graz at Sturm. “We have to look ahead again and want to stay at the top of the table,” is the goal of coach Dietmar Kühbauer in view of the fact that currently only one point is missing from the second-placed LASK.
“Of course, such a defeat as on Wednesday is anything but pleasant, but we don’t have the time to discuss it for days now,” said Kühbauer. “It will be decisive how we present ourselves, because in Graz we will also need a good performance to score – not only because Sturm has changed coaches.”
Rapid wants to focus on the last duel with the Styrians so far when they celebrated a clear 4-0 victory against the “Blackies” in Vienna on June 7th. “Here we showed ourselves effectively in front of the goal and admitted little, we want to follow that,” emphasized Kühbauer, whose team has been unbeaten against Sturm for four games (three wins, one draw).
