‘Rani Bijili Lajjo’ tells the life of women in the North Indian context ‘Rani Bijili Lajjo’ tells the life of women in the North Indian context

Abu Dhabi: The play Rani, Bijili and Lajaho, which tells the lives of three women in a North Indian setting, has become a unique experience for theater lovers and activists in the UAE. The play was staged on the third day of the Bharat Murali Drama Festival organized by the Kerala Social Centre.

Rani, Bijili and Lajjo are the epitome of thousands of women who have been cremated in their husband’s house and are yet to be cremated. The play begins with the village headman and his team throwing a woman named Chemba to her husband’s village, thinking that ‘Kittchi Vhituka’ means uprooting and abandoning one’s own and one’s relationship.

Inspired by Leena Yadav’s movie Purched, O.T. Written by Shahjahan and Anoop Ratna, O.T. It was staged under the direction of Shah Jahan himself.

Rani, a housewife who is a widow and Gulabo’s mother, Bijili, a sex worker in the village who is waiting for all the men to please with a word, Lajho, another housewife who lives with her husband’s abuse… all these are captivating the hearts of the fans.

The play ends with the Ranis, Bijilis and Lajhos continuing their journey, defying and mocking the tyrannical tyranny. Presented by ‘Orma’ Dubai.

Starring Anoop Ratna, Soumya Ramasubramanian, FabiP, Swathi Suresh Varnath, Joshi Kumaran, Ashrid, Adisree, Sandhya MS, Sharmis, Naufal, Kavya, Baburaj, Deepti, Shabana and Prasoon. Music by Viju Joseph, Prakash Withanam and Saneesh KD, Stage Design by Sreejith and Chamayam Pavithran. Dr. Tulasidhar and Prof. Vinod V. Narayanan also became judges. Kerala Social Center Literature Section Secretary Pradeep Kuttikol, President V.P. Krishnakumar, General Secretary Sherin Vijayan and Librarian Sajeesh Nair spoke.
