The New York Rangers have granted Quebec forward Samuel Blais a one-year contract extension worth $1.525 million.
Blais will become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the agreement next summer.
The 25-year-old has been limited to 14 games this season. He was sidelined from November 14 by a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.
Blais has four assists and 17 penalty minutes this season.
The Montmagny native amassed 35 points in 119 games over four seasons for the St Louis Blues, with whom he won the Stanley Cup in 2019.
