Summer is over for the time being – at least from a weather point of view. In the coming days, people in Frankfurt and the region can expect a lot of rain.

Frankfurt – The first week of vacation is over. Anyone who has not yet made it to the summer vacation could feel a much greater urge to do so after the coming weekend at the latest. “Anyone who already thinks it’s changeable and cool will be banging their ears next week,” says Wetter-Expert Dominik Jung from the portal wetter.net. Because instead of the best summer weather, it will be in Frankfurt and region wet and uncomfortable, as the forecast shows.

This is due to a storm with a core north-west of the British Isles, as reported by the German Weather Service (DWD). The low brings warm and very humid air to the Rhine-Main area. Instead of dog days – the coming weeks are considered the hottest time of the year – the Sommer a break.

On Saturday (July 29) it will rain in many places, similar to Friday. Around Frankfurt are strong Thunderstorm not unlikely. In addition, according to the DWD, “local storm not excluded by repeated heavy rain”.

“No weather change in sight” – temperatures in Frankfurt are falling

After all, the temperatures will rise to a summery 23 to 26 degrees, and 19 degrees are expected at high altitudes. According to the weather experts, there may also be occasional showers on Sunday (July 30) with temperatures up to a maximum of 24 degrees.

From Monday the temperatures will also drop. A maximum temperature of 16 to 20 degrees combined with rain showers means that there is no summer feeling at the start of the week. On the contrary, the people in Frankfurt and the region are expecting a “total upheaval in the weather”, as wetter.net puts it.

Summer days will therefore be rather rare in the next few weeks of vacation, and a midsummer high is currently not on the way. “There is no weather change in sight in the next ten to fourteen days,” says Jung. The temperatures dance around the 20 degree mark, garnished with rain showers. The umbrella is always a good choice when walking out the door in the next few days. (esa)

Not only in the Rhine-Main area: throughout Germany the Meteorologist expect autumn weather in August.
