Ubisoft made the decision to postpone both “Rainbow Six Extraction” and “Riders Republic”, in order to be able to offer a better gaming experience.
A Ubisoft announced that two of his upcoming games need to be postponed. As such, “Rainbow Six Extraction” is now targeted for January 2022, while the extreme sports simulator, “Riders Republic”, is scheduled to be released on October 28th.
In a statement about the postponement of “Rainbow Six Extraction”, the team says it is embracing an additional opportunity to bring its vision of the game to life: “We are confident this will ensure the game has the immersive, cooperative and thrilling experience that we set out to create, and the one you want to play. We look forward to sharing more with you very soon!”
As for “Riders Republic”, Ubisoft stated that the delay “will give us more time to fine-tune the experience and provide another opportunity for players to take a leap forward in the game even before launch, and give us their feedback. ”. The spiritual successor to “Steep” was supposed to have been originally released in February.
The path from “Extraction” to release has been somewhat more bumpy than that of “Riders Republic.” Initially titled the “Rainbow Six Quarantine”, the game was to have been released before April 2020, eventually being delayed in late 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the nature of the game, Ubisoft changed the name of the game to “Rainbow Six Extraction” in June.
One game Ubisoft hasn’t put off (at least, for now) is “Far Cry 6”. The next entry into the wild universe is planned to see the light of day on October 7th. It’s possible that Ubisoft didn’t want the now-delayed games to end up having some sort of impact on what will likely be one of the most successful games of the year.
