For several years now, American football has been committed to causes. Whether it’s Major League Soccer and its many activations carried out throughout the year, but also on the side of the American national teams. As a longtime supporter of the LGBTQ+ community, Team USA, for example, will be celebrating LGBTQ+ Pride Month with their friendlies in June.
For the fourth year in a row, Team USA’s men’s and women’s teams will wear rainbow flocking on the shirts, and the colors of the LGBTQ+ flag will also be featured throughout the stadium and on social media. .

Worn against Morocco on June 1st and then during the match against Uruguay on June 5th, the rainbow flocking will dress the outfits of the men’s team during two of the three matches in June. Indeed, against Granada, and due to the rules and regulations of the CONCACAF Nations League, “classic” flocking will be used. Among the women, it is the two friendly matches against Colombia that will be the opportunity to wear this special flocking.

A few weeks after being used on Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 lawns and then being highlighted because of the controversy linked to Idrissa Gueye, rainbow flocking is therefore back on a football shirt. If this is still new in Europe, this flocking has become a habit on the other side of the Atlantic. We remember that Team USA had worn this flocking during a preparation match against the Blues in June 2018.
