Radio Taxi Calvià receives financial aid from the consistory due to the crisis
The Calvià City Council has signed a collaboration agreement with the Radio Taxi Calvià cooperative society to help this entity defray the expenses generated by the switchboard service.
During this year 2020, Radio Taxi Calvià has had to face the same expenses as a normal tourist season to ensure the public transport service in the municipality 24 hours a day.
On the other hand, due to the crisis generated by Covid-19, the income obtained by the associated taxi drivers has been minimal, a circumstance that has prevented them from making the usual contributions for the maintenance of the station.
Aware of this situation, the Municipal Corporation has assumed the expenses generated by the switchboard service during the current year, thus promoting the economic reactivation of a public transport sector that has been particularly affected by restrictions and the economic crisis .
On the part of the City Council, the agreement has been signed by the mayor, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, while on the part of Radio Taxi Calvià the signature has been carried out by its president, Fernando Luengo.
Also present at the event was the Deputy Mayor for General Services and Infrastructures, Joan Recassens.
Through this agreement, the Consistory collaborates with Radio Taxi Calvià through a grant of 10,000 euros.
