Radeon RX 5950XT (Navi): the next AMD graphics card would have 24 GB of HBM2e RAM!

Part of a data sheet attributed to a future Radeon RX 5950XT (Navi) graphics card has just leaked. We discover, among other things, that the graphics card would have up to 24 GB of ultra-fast HBM2e RAM, all with a bandwidth up to 2 TB / s. But also some other technical data of its GPU.

The hardware scene is thrilled: a leak suggests that the next AMD graphics card will be a real monster. The capture, reproduced from an internal document from SK Hynix, describes a mysterious GPU bearing the serial number D32310 / 15 – or if we are to believe our colleagues from WCCFTech, this overlaps two pieces of information. The first is that it is imminently expected that AMD will unveil next-generation RDNA architecture, and the products that use it.

The second is that, as WCCFTech points out, the reference D32310 / 15 appeared in an RRA certification document filed by AMD this week. Suddenly this encourages us to look at the few data revealed in the capture at the end of the article. And to believe these figures is very very heavy. For the GPU alone we have 5120 units of shading packed in 80 Compute Units. But also 320 texture units (TMU) and 96 rendering units (ROP). All with no less than 12 MB of L2 cache.

A particularly fast and therefore expensive type of memory. All this in addition to the presence of 24 GB of HBM2e RAM and a bandwidth of 2 TB / s! If this is confirmed, this means that this card will be at the very top of the basket, far ahead of the monstrous Titan RTX from Nvidia for example. According to the Cowcotland site, this mysterious map would in fact be the future Radeon RX 5950XT – a card that we anticipate as very muscular and which already bears the nickname of Big Navi. We may know more on March 5, 2020, when AMD will hold its Financial Analyst Day, day of announcements and conferences around the results and economic prospects of the founder.
