Rabie Al-Asmar on Duet Songs, Artistic Integrity and Syrian Drama Resurrection

The Lebanese singer Rabie Al-Asmar considered that the participation of any artist in a duet song is considered a risk, especially in the event that the voices differ between the artists, as the song loses its soul when moving from one layer to another, so he thinks a lot before approving any duet.

In an interview with Fuchsia, Asmar commented on the recent releases of the two artists, Najwa Karam and Nawal Al Zoghbi, praising everything they have done on the artistic level.

He considered the artistic community to be “unclean”, and some might accuse him of saying that in order to light himself up, but he refuses to use profanity in the lyrics of his songs, just as he rejects the idea of nudity in the clips.

He expressed his annoyance at the state of the artistic community today. Because the artist must sharpen his tongue at the very least, away from the principle of the end justifying the means.

In terms of TV series, Asmar revealed that he watched several series, including: “Al-Arabji”, “Jam Al-Ezz”, and “Fire with Fire”.

He described the lyric of the series “Al-Zand” as “the missile”, because anything related to heritage is considered ancient gold and cannot be eaten by anyone.

He also praised the personalities of some artists, including the personality of Dima Kandalaft, the personality of the late Muhammad Qanoua in “Al-Arabji”, and the personality of Abbas Al-Nouri in the series “Jam Al-Ezz”.

In conclusion, he indicated that the Syrian drama is in a stage of resurrection and success, wishing it more progress in the field of art and excellence in the Arab world.
