Queen und Adam Lambert: Live! – oeticket – blog | live

Queen have already played 218 concerts in front of a total of 3.7 million visitors with Adam Lambert’s “neo” voice. But no live album has been released yet …

Since their first joint appearance in 2009, when Queen members Brian May and Roger Taylor appeared as guests at the finale of the eighth season of “American Idol”, in which Adam Lambert took part, the combination Queen + Adam Lambert has become one of the Developed the world’s largest touring band, to date they have played in front of a total of almost 4 million visitors.

Speaking of live concerts: If times had been different, Brian, Roger and Adam would have just finished another tour with a colossal series of 27 concerts in 9 European countries. However, the arrival of COVID-19 forced them to postpone their upcoming UK and European summer tour until next year. With this in mind, Queen + Adam Lambert looked for other ways to comfort the nearly half a million disappointed fans who were already in possession of tickets.

The first way, like so many other bands, was on YouTube: The band presented a special “Tour Watch Party”, a one-hour show with live highlights from previous tours around the world. The positive reactions from fans worldwide showed: the show must go on! But not only the over 500,000 spectators were impressed, but also the band itself: “We hadn’t really watched these clips before, we were always too busy touring”, said Roger Taylor. “We didn’t know how good the band sounded. So we thought, well, maybe there is the possibility of recording a live album with highlights from concerts that we have done with Adam Lambert in the last eight years …? “

And indeed! Now, under the title “Live Around the World”, their first joint live album will actually hit record stores on October 2nd and will be released on CD, CD / DVD, CD / Blu-ray and vinyl.

The set contains a compilation of concert highlights from around the world, personally selected by Taylor, May and Lambert from over 200 concerts, some of which are available here for the very first time: We hear classics from Rock in Rio across the Isle of Wight Festival and Summer Sonic to the charity show Fire Fight Australia, one of their last concerts before COVID-19. The last show in particular is special and can therefore be heard in full length: At Fire Fight Australia, Queen played their historic Live Aid set from 1985 in full, including “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Radio Ga Ga”, “Hammer To Fall” “,” Crazy Little Thing Called Love “,” We Will Rock You “and” We are The Champions “. You can even hear Freddie Mercury’s iconic Ay-Ohs on the tape!

The twenty titles in total include firm fan favorites such as “Don’t Stop Me Now” and “I Want To Break Free” as well as rarities such as their versions of the “Love Kills” and “I Was Born” penned by Freddie Mercury To Love You ”. The DVD and Blu-ray contain additional performance recordings, including a “Drum Battle” by Roger Taylor with his son Rufus and a guitar solo by Brian May (“Last Horizon”).

Brian May says of the historic live album: “As we all face the challenge of creating live shows in a world ruled by a formidable viral enemy, it seemed like the perfect time to have a collection of handpicked live highlights from our Queen shows on the last 7 years with our brother Adam Lambert.

Adam Lambert adds: “When we couldn’t go on tour this year, we wanted to give the fans something instead, and a live album just felt right. It’s the first time we’re putting out an album together, and we had a lot of fun putting it together and picking out our favorite gigs from the past seven years. “
